JAMMU:

Evenwhile the National Conference launched a campaign against the local unit of BJP terming its concern on the fast changing demographic profile of Jammu province as an attempt to communalise the situation in Jammu, new dimensions of the demographic invasion of Jammu were brought to the notice by no less a person than the Director General of Police in the State Sh Gurbachan Jagat. Speaking at a function organised by J&K Institute of Public opinion on the 'Status of Militancy and The Role of J&K Police in Tackling it' Sh Jagat revealed that, 'to accomplish its game plan ISI has pumped lot of money
through the fake and genuine currency and asked its agents to purchase land from minority community at any cost'.

Even though he tried to paint a rosy scenario by asserting that the situation in the Valley has improved and the government is on a 'better wicket' there, his admissions about the situation in Jammu clearly underlined the grimness of the situation in the state.

Mr Jagat minced no words while referring to the situation in Jammu. Militants executed heineous massacres of Hindus in Poonch, Rajouri, Budhal, Mahore, Prankote and other higher reaches just to force migration of Hindus from these areas', he said. He further revealed that, 'the ISI with the help of its agents has started purchasing land from Hindus of these areas to change the demographic character of entire Peerpanchal range. To accomplish its new game plan ISI has pumped lot of money through fake and genuine currency and asked its agents to purchase land from the minority community at any cost. The entire Peerpanchal range of Sunderbani, Nowshera, Poonch, Rajouri, Budhal and Mahore is strategically important as it connects with Anantnag district of Kashmir and is also due to its geographical condition an easy point of infilteration'. Mr Jagat also disclosed that the police have unearthed a game plan at Nowshera sector where ISI agents on the direction from their mentors across the border have purchased land from Hindus at a very high cost.
