BUT FOR THEM-MORE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED
JAMMU:
The terrorists who enacted the massacre at Balijarala in Rajouri would have been able to kill more innocents but for the resistance offered to them by the villagers. As per sources the bride?s brother Sh Rajiv Sharma, a jawan in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) displayed unusual courage and determination to face the challenge posed by the terrorists. Taking the gun from a member of the Village Defence Committee he returned the firing, and engaged the terrorists in the encounter for half an hour. However, he soon ran short of ammunition which seriously hampered his fight back. Other members of the Village Defence Committee alsojoined Rajesh Kumar and challenged the terrorists. The resistance however, raised enough alarm amongst terrorists to run away. As per reports two injured youths Suresh Kumar and Romesh Kumar unmindful of their wounds, travelled on a matador to a nearby picket of the Border Secretary Force at Parori, about 15 kms from the site of the massacre and informed the security forces. The BSF personnel rushed to the spot only to find that terrorists had given up their operation.
